David Pearl on StreetWisdom, improvised opera, and singing in the boardroom

David Pearl is a polymath. An innovator who works in business, the arts and social change, he’s run incredible projects including the creation of a skeleton theatre on a clifftop in Portugal where 1500 members of a corporation came together to plan and deliver their own unique operatic performance.

He’s also recently launched the non-profit StreetWisdom where anyone can download the instructions for running a street ‘walkshop‘ to discover the answers to their most burning questions from their immediate environment.

David is also the author of several books including Will there be donuts? -a book about meetings, and his new book, Wanderful, released January 2020.

If you are a creative with multiple interests, or you want to consult to corporations in new and interesting ways, or you want to engineer experiences that impact people’s lives in meaningful ways then you are going to love this interview.

Davids shares one of his most elaborate (and successful) corporate pitches

About David

A performing artist by background, he was boy soloist at the Royal Opera House where he first sang with Placido Domingo at the age of 9.  He has toured the world as an orchestral player, written for the great Stanley Kubrick, presented a music series on BBC2 and set up two mould-breaking opera companies.

In 1994, when one of the world’s leading service firms was looking for a radical new way to boost creativity they asked for David’s help.   Two decades on he’s a creative confidante to the leaders of some of the world’s leading businesses helping them and the teams they lead perform at new levels.

He is perhaps best known for the artful way he designs, orchestrates and animates high-stakes business events, his inspiring keynotes and accessible business books.
